Bendon x Breast Cancer Cure

  • Bendon has always believed that every woman deserves support that meets her where she is in life. Partnering with Breast Cancer Cure felt like a natural extension of that belief.

Anna Johnson - CEO and Co-owner of Bendon
“Bendon has always been in women’s lives in a very personal way. We are there in fitting rooms, in everyday routines, in moments of confidence, comfort and change. Breast Cancer Cure does incredibly important work for women and families across New Zealand, so this partnership felt like a natural extension of what Bendon has always stood for: real support, for real women.

This collection is about more than sleepwear. It is a way for us to use our product, our stores and our connection with women to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. As Bendon also builds its accredited post-surgery and breast prosthesis fitting support in New Zealand, this partnership becomes even more meaningful. It allows us to support women emotionally, practically and commercially, while helping fund research that can change lives.”

  • Bendon and Breast Cancer Cure have had a long-standing connection built on shared values and a shared commitment to women’s health. Over time, that relationship has grown from support and conversation into a more meaningful partnership.

For Bendon, this collaboration is special because it brings together product, purpose and community in a way that feels genuinely aligned. Breast cancer touches so many women, families and communities across New Zealand, and we are proud to play a part in helping fund research that can make a real difference.

  • The idea came from wanting to create something women would truly love to wear, while also giving the campaign a softer, more intimate expression.

Sleepwear felt right because it sits close to real life. It is there in the quiet moments, the recovery moments, the morning moments and the end-of-day moments. For a cause as deeply personal as breast cancer research, we wanted the product to feel warm, beautiful and genuinely useful.

  • Kirsty McKeown, GM Merchandise and Design : Bendon

“When we started thinking about this collection, we wanted it to feel beautiful, but also genuinely useful. Sleepwear is such an intimate category. It is what you reach for at the start and end of the day, when you want to feel comfortable, relaxed and still like yourself.

The design was created to feel soft, feminine and comfortable without becoming overly sentimental. Every detail had to feel wearable beyond the campaign moment. That was important to us. We wanted women to buy it because they love it, wear it because it feels good, and know that by doing so they are supporting something much bigger.”

  • Bendon’s connection to breast cancer is rooted in our everyday relationship with women. We fit women through many different stages of life, including women who have experienced breast cancer, surgery, treatment and recovery.

That support is also becoming more practical. Bendon is now accredited to supply breast prostheses and post-surgery bras in New Zealand, helping women access specialist fitting and product support at a time when comfort, confidence and care really matter.

We understand that the right garment can be deeply personal. It can support confidence, comfort and a sense of self at a time when a woman’s relationship with her body may be changing. That is why this partnership matters to us. It is not just about raising funds, it is about recognising the real women and real lives behind the cause, and making sure they feel supported in ways that are both emotional and practical.
