For every item sold, Bendon will donate $5 to Breast Cancer Cure, helping fund research working towards better treatments, better outcomes and, ultimately, a cure for breast cancer.

A partnership built on real support

“For almost 80 years, Bendon has been part of women’s lives in a very personal way. We are there in fitting rooms and everyday routines, through moments of confidence, comfort, recovery and change.

Our partnership with Breast Cancer Cure is a natural extension of that commitment.

Founded in 1997, Breast Cancer Cure funds breast cancer research in New Zealand, helping give researchers the resources they need to improve outcomes for women and their families.

“Bendon has always been in women’s lives in a very personal way. We are there in fitting rooms, in everyday routines, in moments of confidence, comfort and change,” says Anna Johnson, CEO and Co-owner of Bendon.

“This collection is about more than sleepwear. It is a way for us to use our product, our stores and our connection with women to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.”

It is real support for the realities women face, extending from the products we create to the research that could change what comes next.

Why sleepwear?

It is what we reach for before the world asks anything of us and when the day is finally done. It is there during slow mornings, quiet evenings and those times when rest, recovery and feeling like ourselves matter most.

For a cause as deeply personal as breast cancer, sleepwear felt like the right choice.

“When we started thinking about this collection, we wanted it to feel beautiful, but also genuinely useful,” says Kirsty McKeown, Bendon’s General Manager of Merchandise and Design.

“Sleepwear is such an intimate category. It is what you reach for at the start and end of the day, when you want to feel comfortable, relaxed and still like yourself.”

The Bendon x Breast Cancer Cure Sleepwear Collection includes three coordinated sleepwear sets, three separates, a soft pink robe and a pair of plush white slippers.

Soft pinks, heart motifs and fresh stripe prints bring warmth and personality to the range. Premium cotton blends, soft viscose, satin and cotton fleece make each piece feel as good as it looks.

Available in sizes XS to 2XL, with prices starting from $29.95, every piece has been designed to become a wardrobe favourite rather than a one-off fundraising purchase.

“We wanted women to buy it because they love it, wear it because it feels good, and know that by doing so they are supporting something much bigger,” says McKeown.

The BB Stripe Wash Bag is also available, helping protect bras, lingerie and other delicate garments from tears, tangles and snags in the washing machine.

Something beautiful can start an important conversation

For Breast Cancer Cure CEO Sonja de Mari, one of the collection’s greatest strengths is that it stands confidently on its own.

“When I first saw the collection, I was obsessed. The colourways, the embroidery detail, the fabric choices, everything was so considered,” she says.

“It feels like something you would choose entirely for yourself, and that is what will make this campaign a success.”

But the collection can also help bring breast cancer research into everyday conversations.

“More than anything, I hope it sparks conversation. Someone receives a set as a gift, picks one up for herself, or spots it on a friend and asks about it, and suddenly breast cancer research is being talked about around kitchen tables across the country.”
